Hebe Statue Roman Stone
The beauty of eternal youth can be found in the form of the Greek God statue Hebe, Goddess of Youth. Hebe was the daughter of Zeus and Hera. Legends say that she was not born of their union, but of a bizarre conception: when Hera was having dinner with Apollo, she ate some wild lettuce and became pregnant. Hebe above all others symbolize youth vivacity and beauty, thus characterizing the tender period of a persons life. Her chief duty was to offer nectar and ambrosia to the gods.
Ambrosia was the food that kept the gods eternally young and protected them from the attrition of time. Thus the gods remained strong and beautiful, while Hebe was the personification of eternal youth.
This beautiful statue looks as though it has been carved from stone it is in fact made from a relatively lightweight resin mix.
